Gatwick to London by Train
The train is the quickest way from Gatwick to London for most people. Three operators run services into the city.
Gatwick Express to Victoria
The Gatwick Express runs non-stop from the South Terminal to London Victoria in about 30 minutes, twice an hour. It's the fastest train, and usually the most expensive.
Southern to Victoria
Southern trains also run to London Victoria, taking around 38 minutes with stops on the way. It's a good alternative if you're heading to Victoria and don't need the express.
Thameslink through central London
Thameslink trains run straight through central London, stopping at London Bridge, Blackfriars, Farringdon and St Pancras International, which takes around 54 minutes. They run around the clock, with up to four trains an hour for much of the day. At Farringdon you can change to the Elizabeth line for Paddington, Tottenham Court Road and Canary Wharf.
Gatwick to London by Coach
National Express coaches run from both Gatwick terminals to Victoria Coach Station, taking around 2 hours 10 minutes. The coach is often the cheapest way from Gatwick to London, especially if you book ahead. It's slower than the train, and traffic can add time. Tickets are sold at the National Express desks in each terminal or online.
Gatwick to Central London by Taxi or Private Transfer
A taxi or pre-booked transfer takes you from the terminal to your hotel, home or office, with no platforms, ticket machines or changes. Gatwick is about 30 miles from central London, and journey time by road depends on traffic and your exact address, so allow extra time at busy periods.
A transfer is usually the most practical choice when:

- you're travelling as a family or group;
- you land late at night or very early in the morning;
- your destination isn't close to Victoria or a Thameslink station.
