How Much Is the Drop-Off Charge at Heathrow Terminal 2?
The drop-off charge at Heathrow Terminal 2 is ยฃ7 per vehicle, every time you enter the drop-off area. It's a per-visit charge, not an hourly one: if you drive in, leave and come back, you pay ยฃ7 again. The same charge applies at all Heathrow terminals.
- Drop-offs only. Waiting and picking up passengers aren't allowed in the drop-off area.
- Stay with your vehicle. Cars must not be left unattended.
- Electric cars pay too. There's no exemption or discount for EVs.
- Exempt vehicles: emergency service and military vehicles are exempt. Motorbikes, recovery vehicles, buses and coaches, and cars booked for Heathrow Valet Parking get a 100% discount automatically.
Tip: if you're dropping off for a long-haul flight, have the bags ready to unload before you pull in, so you're in and out quickly.
How Do You Pay the Heathrow Terminal 2 Drop-Off Charge?
You pay the Terminal 2 drop-off charge by card, online, by automated phone line or through AutoPay, by midnight the day after your visit. There are no payment machines in the drop-off zones, and cash and cheques aren't accepted.
Three ways to pay the ยฃ7 charge
- Online: on the Heathrow website, by midnight the day after your visit.
- By automated phone line: same deadline, midnight the next day.
- AutoPay: set up a personal account and each visit is charged automatically, so there's no deadline to remember.
Miss the deadline and an ยฃ80 Parking Charge is issued, reduced to ยฃ40 if paid within 14 days. The charge follows the car, not the passenger, so if a friend drops you off, remind them to pay.

You can pick someone up at Heathrow Terminal 2 from Terminal 2 Parking, about a 2-minute walk from the terminal doors, or from Park & Ride, which is free for the first 29 minutes. Picking up on the forecourt or in the drop-off area isn't allowed, and unattended cars there are removed by police.

Blue Badge holders get two hours free.
To make the free 29 minutes work, wait until your passenger has their bags and is heading for the bus before you drive in.
